Game Programming Course

Event description

Learn how to create your own 2D and 3D games in Unity and Unreal Engine—from basic game mechanics to your own projects.

Want to try your hand at developing your own game? In this game development course for beginners, you’ll learn how to create 2D and 3D games in Unity 6 and Unreal Engine 5 and gradually build your own game projects.

You’ll become familiar with the environments of both game engines and their workflows. In Unity, you’ll work with scenes, game objects, components, UI, and scripts in C#. In Unreal Engine, you’ll focus on levels, actors, components, UI, and programming using Blueprints.

The course will also cover game design, the creation of game mechanics, working with assets, and the basics of the Git version control system. You’ll continuously apply the knowledge you gain while working on your own game projects, which will also serve as the final output of the entire course.

The course will be led by Jan Vampol, a professional game developer at SOEDESCO. SOEDESCO is a game company active in game development and publishing, with development teams in Rotterdam and Plzeň, working on titles for PC as well as PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles.

The course will begin in early October and run through June. Classes will be held once a week in TechTower’s computer lab. You do not need to bring your own laptop; all necessary equipment will be available on site.

The course fee is 2,700 CZK.
Upon registration, you will pay 2,600 CZK via bank transfer and the remaining 100 CZK in cash during the first class.
