A lecture on the inner workings of cyberattacks, hackers’ motivations, APT threats, ransomware, and how artificial intelligence is changing cybersecurity.

What actually happens from the moment an attacker identifies a target until the attack itself takes place? We’ll walk through the entire lifecycle of a cyberattack—from spear phishing and vulnerability scanning, through system compromise and malware propagation, to lateral movement and gaining control. We’ll examine different types of attackers, their motivations, and how ransomware, supply chain attacks, and DDoS attacks work. We’ll also demonstrate how artificial intelligence is increasingly being used in cyberattacks.

This lecture is presented in collaboration with the Faculty of Applied Sciences at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.
