Do you want to start working on your own projects or get paid for your work, but aren’t sure what setting up a sole proprietorship entails? In this workshop, we’ll walk you through the practical steps of obtaining a business ID number, choosing the right business activity, registering with the authorities, and fulfilling your basic obligations to health insurance, social security, and the tax office. There will also be time for specific questions from participants.

Jan Setikovský graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, and after two years at an auditing firm, he switched sides and has been working in accounting for ten years. His clients range from self-employed individuals who issue 12 invoices a year to small businesses and large corporations with turnover in the millions. He manages payroll for clients, prepares accounting and tax records, and files VAT and income tax returns. Of course, he always strives to ensure that the resulting tax liability is acceptable to his clients.
