Motivational virtuoso: Gamification

Event description

We enjoy games because they challenge us, teach us resilience, and reward us with the joy of victory.

These principles can also be applied to work, education, and personal growth—and that is what gamification is all about.

In this workshop, we will teach you simple but powerful gaming principles that will enable you to motivate people and teams to follow you with enthusiasm. Your mission will be to become a leader who ignites the spark and turns “I have to” into “I want to.”

The workshop will be led by:

Jindřich Pavlásek

At the age of eleven, he immersed himself in video game development, and while still in high school, he won the Velký Chytrák 2007 developer community award with his game Fairy Prince. He wrote his thesis on how to tell stories through games. Today, he makes a living designing and illustrating board games. For example, he is the co-author of the game Jan Žižka, based on the film of the same name by Petr Jákal, and in October, the game Kapři a lekníny (Carps and Water Lilies) will be released, for which he did the development and illustrations.

Ondřej Velc

For him, law school in Pilsen was a game that he successfully completed. He has been an entrepreneur his entire life. He co-owned two companies, which he successfully sold. He discovered that motivation is key in business—when you don’t want to do something, it’s worse than when you can’t do it. He was therefore fascinated by how to transfer gaming motivation to work and life and increase player engagement. So he immersed himself in gamification. In his free time, he runs and trains in kung fu, where he tries to level up as diligently as he does in the business world.
