Schrödingerova čočka: Spintronics – A Revolution in Chip Technology

Event description

Schrödingerova čočka: Spintronics – A Revolution in Chip Technology

What if the future of computing isn’t about making chips smaller, but about rethinking how we store information?

Modern electronics are reaching their limits. Spintronics offers a new way forward – harnessing the magnetic properties of electrons to transform how data is stored and processed. And Czech scientists are among the world’s pioneers in this field.

Joining us at TechTower is Prof. Tomáš Jungwirth, Ph.D., an internationally renowned physicist from the Czech Academy of Sciences whose groundbreaking research has helped advance spintronics and magnetism. His work is also closely connected to the discovery of altermagnetism, a new form of magnetism recognised by Science magazine as one of the top ten scientific breakthroughs of 2024.

What can you expect? A behind-the-scenes look at next-generation chip technology, remarkable discoveries from Czech science, and an opportunity to engage directly with a scientist helping shape the future of the field.

The lecture is part of Schrödinger’s Lens, a series bringing together science, inspiring minds and open discussion in an intimate setting. No watching from behind a screen – this time, experience science face to face.
